“Taking a job in a country on the other side of the ocean was a little intimidating at first, but there are so many interesting and friendly people at Stroud that I am already beginning to feel at home.”
After graduating from a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Queen’s University in 2017, I took up an offer with Stroud to move across the pond to London, England. Coming from a smaller town outside Toronto, this was a huge and exciting move for me, as well as a little intimidating. Luckily, the team at the London office is full of awesome people that have made this move so much more enjoyable.
What excited me about Stroud was the ability to apply the more technical teachings of my degree to a diverse set of real life problems, while also working in a more people focussed environment. Since starting, I have worked in three different countries at four different sites. These projects have ranged from plastics manufacturing company in Israel, to cake production in southern Ontario. Every day at Stroud I feel as though I am developing personally and professionally at a faster rate than I have at any other previous job. I am excited to see what the next year has in store for me.
When I’m not working I am trying to travel as much as I can. This year I have been to Calgary, Canada where I did some amazing hikes in the Rockies, as well as Barcelona, Spain to visit a friend that I met while working in Germany.
